I purchased a Flint Mica tC a few days ago and have been enjoying it
immensely. Besides all the standard conveniences, there are lots of
cool touches (front/back moonroofs, 160 watt Pioneer stereo with Scion
Sound Processing, stereo controls on the steering wheel, etc.) and it's
very solid and easy to drive. The motor is 2.4L/160 HP/163 ft-lb of
torque VVT-i Toyota powerplant so it has plenty of "go", you can carry
lots of stuff in the hatchback, and the 60/40 split rear seat area is
large enough to actually hold passengers. This car is sporty without
being uncomfortable or impractical, beautiful inside and out and is a
GREAT VALUE for the money (less than $20K including tax). Very happy
thus far.

Nice looking car! Would you do us a favor and post your real-world fuel
mileage, sometime?
I forgot to mention the outside temp gauge (a feature I really like,
also found on my Matrix), a one-touch auto-down on the driver's AND
passenger's window, a tire pressure monitor and standard ABS brakes.
Will do. It's HARD to avoid the temptation to plant your foot in it,
the motor is quite torquey.

I hate you....
No, not really...perhaps a little jealous. Let us know how it acts over the
next few months. I would like one of these myself.

BTW, how much? Any bargains?
This is the kind of Toyota I like. Everything Toyota sells under their own
'brand' now basically sucks...
I worked at a Toyota dealer this summer. Didn't like a single car!
Scion has a "no-haggle" pricing policy like Saturn, and I thought the
price was pretty reasonable, but when I drove the car I asked the sales
guy if the sticker was everything except tax, tag and title and he said
"yes". Then when I go in to write the check, he lays this $599 ($635
including tax) dealer fee on me, which is in addition to the $600 or so
destination charge. I protested, closed my checkbook and got up to
walk out, so they scrambled to see what they could do to keep their
price firm and still keep my checkbook open. They ended up throwing in
the spoiler. I'm not a hard-nosed negotiator and I really liked the
car, so I bit. It's only money.
I agree with you, man. I think the current lineup is the most undesireable
and bland in Toyota's history. Hopefully they'll crank out a few more cool
models under Scion.
The dealer fee was just extra profit, in effect so was the destination fee
since that is included in the MSRP. That is why one must always negotiate a
total drive home price from the get go, not a fictional selling price, when
comparing prices. From your description it looks like you paid $1,235 for
that 'free' spoiler

Where are you located?
The Southeastern Toyota dealers add 600 bucks to every car.
My son and I flew to Philadelphia and bought his new 06 Corolla
without that damned 600 bucks. We had a great road trip in his new
car and still came out ahead!

Actually, the new Camry looks OK. And Nissan's are ugly, aren't they...and
they ALL look the same!

A young girl I know told me I drive like an old man
I told her, actually, I drive like Mario Andretti.
It's just that too many other people on the road
drive like Paul Tracy...
