Thanks ! Has there been issues with the tensioner leaking ? So says the
dealer..

I do not recall reading about any timing chain tensioner leaks in this ng,
but that does not mean that there have or have not been any issues.

Do you have an engine oil leak from the front of the engine? Is the timing
chain making noise?

Unless it's been replaced, I haven't seen one that doesn't leak. I remember
that when your generation started to get a few miles on them, we were
replacing headgaskets like no other because the oil from the tchain
tensioner weeps across the bottom of the head. Once the big guys figured
out the tensioner was to blame, they quickly put the kibosh on paying out
warranty headgaskets.
So yeah, they all leak.

Have they fixed the problem by now? (2006 model)

Yeah, I haven't seen any leaks in the new iteration of the corolla.
