bringing Toyovan back to life...help

I am looking for anyone to help me bring my 85 van back to life again. It
is in great shape and has been sitting for awhile. I got it running for
awhile last month. Problem was it would lose RPM when you accelerate. It
backfired when I got off the accelerator. I am guessing timing,
sensors..ie. mass air flow, TPS (throttle position sensor), any ideas.
Anyone who has had similiar symptoms this please give me some advice.
Thanks. toyofan

Start by checking ignition timing, check for vacuum leaks, clogged air
filter.
