Did anyone hear Rush talking about the AF installing a Wind Turbiine to
power their Ground Water Clreaning Equipment in Cape Cod?
They use about $1M worth of electricty a year cleaning the ground water at
an AFB in Cape Cod (Otis? Thought it was closed...)
At any rate, they figure they can save a minimum of $120,000 a year, and the
southwest corner of the base has an average wind speed of 20 MPH, plenty to
power one of these things.
So, we have a desire for a Clean Electric producing item (stands about 300
feet tall) being used to clean ground water; totally enviornmentally sound
project, if you ask me.
I'll bet anyone $10 it doesn't pass the 'citizen's board' that has to
approve it first. If it does, I'll eat my keyboard.
"Unsightly" "Noisy" "It will kill birds"
Liberals want Clean this and Clean that...until you put it in their back
yard.

It's a very good idea but why stop at just one? Time to tell the complainers
to shut up. I'd love to walk out and see wind generators atop Provin Mt.

I find liberal environmentalists a little more open to alternative energies
now that they have to pay a little more for energy. Look at all the nuclear
reactors that got approved just this year alone without too much noise from
them.

Can't say I do. I was listening to a radio talk show a few weeks back (can't
remember the station or who's show it was) and Bill's son was on. Said his
father wouldn't allow any other channel but 22 for his family's viewing. It
was very interesting to hear the old familiar names that worked at 22 and
what happened to them. Bill was next to be interviewed the following day but
I miss it.
I can see 22's tower from my back yard. We pick strawberries and blueberries
at the base of the mountain (Brown's farm). I grew up in Feeding Hills and
married and settled down in my home of 32 years. I think you and I live
about 30 miles from each other.
