50,000 miles does seem a bit premature for CV joints to be replaced. Rather
than taking the vehicle to the shop and asking for the CV joints to be
replaced, I would go on a road test with someone from the shop and let them
diagnose the noise. It could something as simple as strut/shock absorber
mounts or rack ends.
Whether or nor you will have to pay for the new parts depends on the
warranty on your vehicle.
