And we are spending hundreds of billions of dollars and thousands of
American lives to
set up these "democracies" that are really no better than the Taliban.
Iraq will be 10 times as bad. This administration has no clue as to what
they are doing.
Thanks George Bush.

Not Islam, but a collection of radical clerics. Islam has no opinion
on anything, it is the people that interpret it.

You are willing to use this excuse for Moslems however you continue to
vilify Christians for any deed, whether good or bad. Your prejudice is
glaring.

Islam is like Christianity. Same God, same Jesus Christ.... you have
these pockets of fundamentalists who simply use religion as a vehicle
to satisfy their own megalomaniac desires. You have legions of lost
sheep who follow these people and what do you have then? Taliban,
Falwell.
The problem in the USA is of course much more subtle. It is a problem,
neverthess.
We are indeed a great ocean liner. I like that metaphor. Over the
past 6 years Bush has swung a little too hard to the right to avoid
hitting any o'dem too<bs><bs>urrists.
Since we are THE Superpower of the Earth, even a slight shift in
direction has exponential effect.
As an individual, you and I are demigods compared to most of the world.
That is a grave responsibility, no?

Ask the women that don't have to go to rape rooms.
Ask the people that are not killed just for the hell of it.

No, now if they are unfortunate enough to be raped, some would make
honor killing constitutional. As it stands, it is acceptable in many
fundamentalist societies.
The folks I know who practice the faith are here in some cases to get
away from the radical fundamentalism, I suppose much like American
expatriots. Fundamentalism is what it is.

Those muslims stayed in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iraq, etc... you'd be
amazed at the diversity of social leanings within most faiths.
A lot of people find it more than acceptable to simply believe that
there is a God and to practice good works. Its easier that way, and it
virtually guarantees you'll never have to bother with Jihad.

Do you think it is a result of the bleak terrain or the water? Why do
men wear rags on their heads and why do the women have to cover their
face? How can they make things grow on a moonscape?
