In my opinion it will. 'Merians can screw up anything... I believe
Toyota has 'internal' numbers to support this as well..

Because the Avalon came out with the new platform before the Camry did.

I believe that the previous generation Camry and the new generation Avalon
are different platforms but the new generation Camry and new generation
Avalon are based on the same platform.

No, there will be very little difference other than some parts will be
sourced by Japanese companies for the J while the same part may be sourced
by an American company if assembled in the US. The engineering and the
assembly tolerances are the same regardless of where it is assembled.

That is correct, it doesn't matter where the cars are assembled. The
majority of the parts will come for outside the US and the profits earned on
the sale will go to Japan, US federal tax free. ;)
