2005 Camry automatic

When travling this week over a mountain pass. comming down the other
side we were doing about 90kmh stepped on the brakes fairly hard to
slow down and the car down shifted all by itself . This would happen
each time on a fairly steep angle when I applied the breaks from
around 90 km or so . Even when going slower some times. Called the
Toytoa dealer where we bought it new last year, and he told me this
was normal with the new type Transmissions. Never noticed it before
any comments on this. Checked the fluid level and seemed fine
