After the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, which killed six and
injured 1,000; President Clinton promised that those responsible would
be hunted down and punished.
After the 1995 bombing in Saudi Arabia, which killed five U.S.
military personnel; President Clinton promised that those responsible
would be hunted down and punished.
After the 1996 Khobar Towers bombing in Saudi Arabia, which killed 19
and injured 200 U.S. military personnel; President Clinton promised
that those responsible would be hunted down and punished.
After the 1998 bombing of U.S. embassies in Africa, which killed 224
and injured 5,000; President Clinton promised that those responsible
would be hunted down and punished.
After the 2000 bombing of the USS Cole, which killed 17 and injured 39
U.S. sailors; President Clinton promised that those responsible would
be hunted down and punished.
Maybe if President Clinton had kept his promises, an estimated 3,000
people in New York and Washington, D.C. that are now dead would be
alive today.
There are two men, both extremely wealthy. One develops relatively
cheap software and gives billions of dollars to charity. The other
sponsors terrorism.
Why was it that the Clinton Administration spent more time and money
chasing down Bill Gates during his eight years than he spent chasing
down Osama bin Laden?

Pursuing Bill Gates was more glamorous and attention seeking.

From what lofty place do you idiots feel justified to complain about bin
Laden being on the loose?? Oh, yeah...you guys give Mr. 31% a pass on
everything.

Scott, all those horrible bombings against us happened
AFTER Papa Bush put that U.S. military base in Saudi Arabia, and
left it there even after the first Persian Gulf War of 1991 was
over. Those attacks against us were not related to Bill Clinton's
actions.
Clinton did not put that military base in there--Papa Bush did.
Can you imagine how we would have reacted a couple
decades ago if the Soviets had had a military base on U.S. soil?
After 15 years, we need to pull that base outta Saudi Arabia, and
stop messing with their political and business dealings.
Polls show that the overwhelming majority of the Saudi population
wants that base outta there. And they want us to stop meddling in
their internal affairs. Once we do so, I'll betchya anything the
bombings against us will stop. And we won't have to worry about
future Nine-Elevens.
God knows what Herbert Walker's son Dubya was doing in Saudi Arabia
during Dubya's first 8 months in office--assassinating people? Stealing
existing
oil contracts and giving them to Exxon, Chevron, and Conoco??
Probably a little bit of both, and God knows what else. And it led to
awful, evil retaliation on 9/11.
I don't believe in unnecessary warfare, so I despise what the
Saudi terrorists did to us on 9/11 just like a despise what the
Bush terrorist did before 9/11.
As I mentioned before, Nine-Eleven *NEVER* would have
happened had Al Gore become President after the 2000 election.
We can thank the Bush political family and Big Oil for
9/11.
It's all about control of oil and the vasts amounts of
money made from oil. We need to respect the Saudi people's
wishes by removing our military base and by ending our
corporate meddling in their internal business and political affairs.
Remember how we acted 200+ years ago when the British
Empire was meddling in our affairs? Same principle.
Now, thanks to my reply to Scott, I probably got King Bush and
the N.S.A. on my ass again. So I repeat [for the political police]
that I am a nonviolent, peaceful American who follows all laws
and will be voting Democratic in 2008. God bless America.
Damn. That Scott always gets me in trouble [chuckle]. I guess
I can kiss any government job goodbye after this post [Laugh Out Loud].
King Bush is makin' a list, and checkin' it twice! LOL

You are absolutely correct, it is much better to bankrupt the county,
and be responsible for almost 40,000 civillian deaths (and counting).
plus thousand of US soldiers dead (and counting) And STILL not have an
Osama to show for it. I really like Bush's way better

Scott,
You forgot Somalia. And you are wrong regarding the money spent chasing
Osama but why let the facts get in the way of a good story. And quite a
few of the perps. were caught.
However, listing the failures of past Presidents doesn't absolve the
sitting President.
[url]http://www.cnn.com/US/9607/30/clinton.terrorism/[/url]
I really like the line near the end re. wire taps in light of current
NSA activity.
Of Clinton's efforts says Robert Oakley, Reagan Ambassador for
Counterterrorism: "Overall, I give them very high marks" and "The only
major criticism I have is the obsession with Osama".
In short, during the Clinton years our elected Republican leaders in
the House and Senate let politics get in the way of good policy. In
retrospect, I suppose Clinton should have set the Constitution aside
and just conducted a private war on bin Laden and Al Qaeda. I'm sure
the Republican leadership would have seen Clinton as defending the USA
and given him some sort of award. Like Impeachment.

The country is NOT bankrupt. You are parroting others inaccurate
postings. We are NOT responsible for 40000 deaths either.

OK, so lets say for a minute that we haven't spent BILLIONS on the war
in Iraq, and lets pretend that Norway is resposible for 40000 Iraqi
civillian deaths. Who is responsible for 2500+ dead US soldiers and
20000+ wounded US soldiers? What are they dying for? Iraq posed no
threat to the US. They had nothing to do with 9/11. We were lied to
about WMD's so that Bush could go to war. And for what? because you
'think' we have a terrorism problem? what we have is a foreign
relations problem, when was the last time you heard of a terrorism
attack on Sweden? or Holland? or Australia? or Canda? or Norway? Bush
will tell you the terrorist attack us because they hate the fact that
we are free. BULLSHIT! Terrorst attacted us because we cannot mind our
own god damned business, and for whatever reason we can't keep our
filthy hands out of their polititcs. I have, in recent times done
international traveling, and what I have seen first hand is, that the
rest of the world is living happy, and our government has us cowering
in fear. The amount of fear in this country is laughable! Go to italy,
and France, and Germany, you can walk or drive right across borders,
nobody hassles you, life is normal there, unlike here, where I get the
wand going into a concert or sporting event, or where I have to give my
ID to make a bank deposit, Hell I can't even get into my grandmothers
neighborhood without them taking my drivers license information. And
don't even get me started on the Patriot Act, we are happily giving up
our civil rights for some sort of a sense of security, our founding
fathers are rolling over in their graves! Land of the free my ass!
And don't even think about giving the the "love it or leave it" line,
or "don't let the door hit you on the way out.". I am an American, and
I will fight for the principles that this country was founded on. When
the government is lying to the people, and when they have "secret"
agendas, and when they are putting American lives on the line to
fulfill those agendas, I have to excercise my rights to fight these
injustices, the problem is, is that there are too many blind sheeple
who are falling for the propoganda, getting in the way.
Their are many people in jail now over the World trade center. They were
tried and found guilty. Under the Bush administration, only a single person
was found guilty last week. Everyone else is running free or died in the
attack.
Did Reagan catch any one when the marines were killed in their sleep?
Clinton was president only a short time before the World Trade Center in 93.
Obviously Reagan and Bush senior deserve the blame for that failure of
intelligience, not Clinton.
Many under arrest for the Cole attack recently escaped. What is Bush doing
about it?
Bush turned Iraq into a haven for terrorists.

You should use this line of reasoning for 9/11 also.

You are excited and are shouting. Why does this stuff upset you so
much? America is NOT bankrupt. Do you even understand what bankrupt
means?
Here's a suggestion for you. Quit watching so much TV news and reading
postings by people who only quote stuff from moveon.org, DNC, or crap
out of the local news rag paper which is maned/womaned by some recent
journalism graduates who still have not learned the meaning of objective
reporting.

No, Reagan, like W. Bush, created the largest budget deficits
in history. Nice to see our conservative Republican brothers are at
least *trying* to conserve.
I'm not even sure why they call themselves "conservatives" because
the only people who truly "conserve" when it comes to federal spending
and the environment are Democrats and Greens.
Before the great liberal Clinton, I don't remember when the federal
government last showed a budget SURPLUS. I think it may have been under
Nixon for just a single year? Not Ford, not Reagan, Not Bush One, not Bush
Two.
As Forbes Magazine has written, W. Bush has been spending like a
druken sailor. He really does conserve, oh yes.
