What's Karl Rove thinking? If I were Karl, I wouldn't want Bush's name and
"Vietnam" to ever appear in the same sentence. Brings up too many memories
of
how the Senator's son evaded service "in-country."
[Yes, I know "to ever appear" is a split infinitive, but I like how it
sounds.]
Quote from BusinessWeek:
"Vietnam wants to join the world trade body [W.T.O.] before hosting an APEC
summit
in Hanoi in November which U.S. President George W. Bush is expected to
attend."
How would Kerry do that? He didn't even know were he was, when he was
there LOL

And if I were you, I wouldn't want to post off-topic political
stuff to a newsgroup devoted to the discussion of Toyotas.
Is this some sort of narcissistic thing with you? Are you afraid
that your incisive observations wouldn't garner enough attention
in one of the umpteen-hundred political newsgroups created for just
that sort of topic?

Geoff, I would have replied to your question to me the other day, in
the
religious thread, but I got kinda *Weirded Out* by the signature
you've been
using the past few days, you know the one about "high-grade protein."
And now I'm even more Weirded Out.

Actually, GWB will be normalizing relations with Vietnam. This will be
good for the U.S. We are now doing the same with Libya. Trade with
these two countries will be lively. There is oil off the coast of
Vietnam....We can show them how to get it.

Heh...never read talk.bizarre, eh?
You ought to check it out sometime. There's a lot of good stuff
in there.

Yeah, I suppose the intent behind the name "alt.autos.toyota" is
pretty vague and ambiguous...
If one is a 'tard.

Sounds like your gripe rests with those who start off-topic threads. Good
luck....

But aren't they communists? Didn't we lose 60,000 men over there,
fighting communism? Aren't the old fart right wingers still whining
about how Jane Fonda and the hippies lost that "Just" war for us.
Now it's as if nothing happened. Wow, they must have really been some
threat to the US after all. I guess old kadafi is a good ole boy now
too, that whole Pan Am 103 bombing is long in the past, now that we
have a common enemy, I guess we can trust him. Nice to know that this
administration is double crossing anti Kadafi personel by turning them
over to Kadafi, these are people who had helped us in the past, and
this is how we are repaying them. I guess if Reagan could trust, arm
and fund Osama Bin Laden, because of our common Soviet enemy, then it
only makes sense to get in bed with the devil again, I mean that whole
Bin Laden thing worked out so well. But dbu, you hit it on the head,
Oil, plain and simple. This admin will sell out our national interests
and ideals for
what's best for big oil in a heartbeat.
What I don't understand is why they can normalize relations with
Vietnam and Libya, but not Cuba? Oh wait, I forgot about that large
Anti-Castro vote down there in Florida, and of course, no oil.

Maybe he can fly in on a B-52, for old time's sake.
And as a gift, hand the Vietnamese Premier a handful of Agent
Orange.
Everybody loves that stuff--good eatin'.
Let's just hope Dubya doesn't hurl on the Vietnamese leader's lap
like his
Pappy did when visiting Japan. How embarrassing for America. Nice to
know
we put our best foot forward when we send the Bush family abroad. [LOL]
