2005 Corolla bumper replacement - DIY?

I need to replace the front bumper of a 2005 Corolla. The shop wants
$650 to do it. It's just one piece - has anyone here replaced a bumper
on any newer Corolla before? Tips?

TIA

Yeah, go to a junk dealer first, and buy the piece for 100$ and then
have a mechanic put it on for you. Or look on ebay for the part and
have it mailed to your home.

Besides the bumper cover, there is a energy absorbing foam behind the cover
and then reinforcing steel behind the foam. If you are just replacing the
bumper cover, there are a bunch of 10 mm bolts that you can access from
underneath, and probably a few more that you can get from behind the grille.
Remove the bolts and cover, and then reverse the process. If your bumper
cover is the same color as the rest of the car, you will need to have the
replacement bumper cover painted before you install it. Whoever paints the
bumper cover will have to add a rubberizing agent to the paint so that it
will not crack so easily.

It's real easy. Bunch of 10mm and plastic fasteners on the bottom, bunch of
10mm and plastic fasteners on top around the radiator, and one 10mm on each
side where the bumper cover comes to a point infront of the wheel (you'll
need to pry back the plastic fender liner to get to it - the bolt head
points down). Remove the two side bolts and pull that part of the bumper
cover laterally away from the car (it clips in and you'll think you broke
it when it comes loose - that freakin clip is loud). Then remove the top
and bottom fasteners and the cover will practically fall off.

Is that $650 for parts, painting and labor? If so probably not bad price.
Suspect OEM part alone is $250 or so - and piece behind it could be damaged
too. You know they can be repaired if sliced or dented?
