OT: Another blow to the reputation of U.S. soldiers ?
AP Excerpts
Published: August 2, 2006
TIKRIT, Iraq (AP) -- A U.S. soldier testified Wednesday that four of his
colleagues accused of murdering three Iraqis during a raid threatened to
kill him if he told anyone about the shooting deaths.
Pfc. Bradley Mason, who is not one of the accused, also said that their
brigade commander told troops hunting insurgents to ''kill all of them.''
U.S. soldiers and Marines have been accused of a string of civilian deaths
in Iraq, including the alleged massacre of dozens in Haditha. Another
hearing is scheduled later this month over allegations that five U.S.
soldiers raped and killed a 14-year-old girl.
Girouard, Hunsaker, Clagett and Spc. Juston R. Graber are accused of murder
and other offenses in the shooting deaths. The first three are also accused
of obstruction of justice for allegedly threatening to kill Mason.

Pretty good instructions, I'd say.
It is about time to test our nukes.
I guess we will have to wait till Iran nukes Israel, but us nuking the
f*ing place is only a little while away.

Our MIRV's are as accurate as the laser guided bombs you see used in
Iraq. A small bomb, say 150 kilo tons would do a very nice job on some
of the bunkers and various positions. The problem is the stigma of
using thermonuclear weapons. If we were as ruthless as the terrorists
we would have used them a long time ago, but we are trying very hard to
prevent it's spread, namely to Iran and N. Korea. If we were to go and
use them on a small terrorist war such as Iraq or Lebanon it would be
tantamount to killing a fly with a shotgun and that makes for very bad
press. Our media would just as soon us loose the Iraq conflict and have
the terrorists rule the world.

Well the nukes did a good job in WWII. I see no reason not to use
them if some idiot rag head uses one.

That's kind of the thing we want to avoid - retaliation with nuclear
weapons. It can get out of hand and then we're all in trouble.
The world is a different place than it was at the end of WWII. Too
many people have too many bombs
I hope that _nobody_ ever uses a nuclear weapon ever again.

You better hope that Iran, North Korea or the terrorists don't get hold
of one or more. They will use them without any qualms. Fortunately
Libya and Iraq are out of the picture.

Re: OT: Another blow to the reputation of U.S. soldiers ?
Modern nukes have a massive radius and are much more potent. Iran
hitting Israel will affect lebanon, jordan and Syria. Might not destroy
all fo thsoe countries or any, but radiation will be rampant in those
countries.
