Since a transaxle is a transmission, differential, and axle assembly, and
there is only one in the Avalon, I'll assume that you replaced the driver's
side axle and not the entire transaxle, and that the axle seems fine.
What is the condition and fluid level of the ATF? Did you use Dexron III?
Are you aware that the differential has a separate fill plug from the
transmission and did you top off the differential with Dexron III?
When you say that the differential is leaking, where is the leak coming
from? If it is coming from the axle seal, the most likely cause of the leak
is that the seal was not seated properly or the diameter of the aftermarket
shaft is too small.
