We might as well given Israel and Lebanon a blank check and said go ahead
and destroy each other. Just fill in the blank space and the American
taxpayers will foot the rebuilding.
I've got a better idea. Let them sit in the rubble for a long time so it
gets impressed in their heads you wanna play you have to pay.
I'm tired of so-called friends who extort money so they will remain our
friends.
It's not Lebanon, It Hezbollah. Hezbollah is an Iranian terror group.
The United States and the world has a tremendous amount to gain by
having Hezbollah defeated. Iran is the real threat that has to be
stopped in the Middle East. Defeating Hezbollah will lay a tremendous
blow to Iran's quest to destabilize the Middle East, become a nuclear
threat, and ultimately destroy and conquer Israel and any non Shiite
Middle Eastern Country. You better support Israel and you can bet our
leaders know the stakes.
Maybe you should be blaming the people who started it (Hezbollah), and
the people who did nothing about Hezbollah (the Lebanese). Hell,
Hezbollah is part of the government there!
Re: OT May I Be The First To Announce The Well Is Dry
Myabe you should blame the british for starting the wars in the middle
east and india by giving away other peoples land and not look at the
situation now but what caused it. This happened in world war 1 with the
treaty of versaille aswell, england forced it on germany..shit got
ugly...war started.
Or just let those countries deal with their own issues at let them duke
it out.
I think he's referring to the Iraqi prime minister's refusal to condemn
Hezbollah, I've missed a few days of newspapers but I wouldn't be surprised
if there was an implication he was holding out for help or concessions or
something. In any event, the Iraqi PM is living on borrowed time as it is
and, if he's simply reluctant to speak out or wants maximum benefit when he
does, we can hardly fault him for this.
Hezbollah should be free to be politically represented in the Lebanese
government. However, you and others are right, they have no business
launching military strikes. But, that's the way it is in the MidEast. For
all of Nasser's blather about Pan-Arab "Nationalism," the concept of
"nation" is extremely hazy over there and tribe, religion, militia and other
affiliations are far, far more important.

It's these US sponsored idiots who'd like to see this "conflict" run forever
which, of course, includes rove, bush, cheney & rice, etc.

Stuart, I really don't care who started what. All I know is we promised to
foot the bill to rebuild.
If Rice wants a cease fire only if there's something solid to believe in;
that an effort will be made so the likelihood of it happening again is slim,
then why not demand the same thing if we have to foot the bill to rebuild?
Christ almighty, even here at home if a person burns down his home because
of a stupid accident with a wood stove the insurance company pays and then
refuses to renew the coverage. We should do the same on a grand world scale.
Enough is enough. Just tell all those with their hands out to kiss off.

They should be free to be represented in the Lebanese government. I'm
not trying to say that the Lebanese people shouldn't control their own
political system. However, it does tend to make one think that the
Lebanese, by allowing part of their government to be a terrorist
organization, do support terrorism.
Re: OT May I Be The First To Announce The Well Is Dry
They have drugs for that now. The well can be restarted. If it runs for more
tha 4 hours, see your doctor immediately -- OR move to Hollywood and sign a
movie contract ...
