This is awesome ain't it!!!! Another seat opened up thanks to a
perverted Republican hours ago.. and George knows he's probably in the
crapper now even though Webb is running his campaign like a broken down
bus.

But it won't be enough to cause his defeat, and some people are more
likely to vote for him because of that remark, his regular use of the
word "******", and the fact he stuffed a dead animal's head in a black
family's mail box. What the Democrats have to do to win is make those
voters dislike Allen by labelling him as a California carpetbagger.

Allen is running ads now that show Webb was against women in the naval
academy. Unfortunately that might be enough to get Webb elected!
Being a Virginian I doubt Allen will get defeated anywhere except
Northern Virginia.

Did Allen say "******" and stuff the dead animal head in the black
people's mail box because he liked black people? Did Webb say women
didn't belong in combat because he hated women? Motives matter.

Ask any combat veteran about the importance of unit cohesion, and
you'll learn why many of them oppos having women in combat. My father
has always had a progressive attitude about women, but he still opposes
allowing women in combat units (except flyers), even women who are more
qualified than most men, simply because he feels that unit cohesion
will be hurt.

I am not in favor of women in combat either. I believe a man will do
more to save a fellow woman soldier who may be still alive than he
would if it was a man. Chauvinism is something many men have ingrained
in them from childhood. We are not allowed to fight back against women
but are allowed to hit back if some little boy hits us. Whether this
is good or bad, you decide.

My point was that Allen's commercial may actually work in Webb's favor
with the good ol' boys if Webb thinks women should not be allowed in
the academy. That is not the same as not allowing women in combat.
That is keeping them out of the establishment and higher learning arena.
