OT Richmond, Virginia --Sons Of Confederate Veterans in Denounce Allen For "denunciating" the rebel flag

09/28/2006

By BOB LEWIS / Associated Press

Sen. George Allen's use the word "macaca" for a young man of Indian
descent forced him to spend the past six weeks disputing claims that
his past is littered with racist language and a fondness for
Confederate symbols.

On Thursday, the furor came full circle when the Sons of Confederate
Veterans turned on Allen.

The organization criticized the Republican for saying he had been slow
to grasp the pain that Old South symbols like the Confederate flag
cause black people.

"The denunciation of the flag to score political points is anathema to
our organization," Brag Bowling, immediate past state commander of the
SCV, told reporters near the state Capitol, once the Confederacy's seat
of government.
END QUOTE

The SCV are a _very_ respected organization among many Virginians. If
you lived in Virginia between 1860 and 1865, were male and old enough
to hold a gun, you fought and most likely died. Virginian Confederate
soldiers fought with bravery because they had to. For the land under
their feet.

This occured in the venerated Capitol of the CSA. Northern Virginians
may already be lost to Allen, ipso facto. This denunciation could
spread quickly from Pungo to Mount Rogers to Staunton in about oh...
what, 37 days or so? Allen doesn't know a damned thing about the south
obviously. He's just a moron.

Re: OT Virginia - losers unite

Typical of all the losers today, if they can not support their position on
any subject in life you resort gutter tactics. We see guys like our good
friend little richard doing it in the NG daily, why not in politics?

Back in the day everybody called us that at one time or another, including
Allens opponent and all of the other southern democrats. We called all you
white folks honkies as well on occasion. LOL
