{OT} 10/19, or "Death Of A President"

The politicos in this NG may be interested in an item shown on UK
TV tonight, ie 9 October. "Death of a President" is a fictional
documentary about events surrounding the assassination/murder of
George W Bush on 19 October 2006. Cleverly assembled from real
news footage, enacted material (often ambitious in scale) as well
as carefully edited real material, it is well performed and IMHO
convincing -- except that of course the whole thing is imaginary.
(Of course "of course".) Viewers at _that_ end of the political
spectrum may well applaud and shout "right on!", while those at
the _other_ end seem likely to shrug it off as holding no lessons
for the real world. Either way, it works as a detective mystery:
who did it and why? It may also remind some who lived through it
of the Kennedy Affair and the fumbling which went on back then.

Oops... Looks like Dubya gets a reprieve. I should have posted
"19 October 2007". But it's still a cleverly made show.

I won't be wasting my money on it.

Wouldn't be a waste, I assure you, for those with open minds. I
sense you have assumed they merely run down Dubya. In fact, it's
pretty much in the reporting style I recall from when Kennedy was
murdered: a welter of confusion, theories, eulogies &c. The show
explores what might result from such an event in today's world,
not score petty points. Dubya just happens to be the incumbent.

BTW, do you pay for your off-air TV programming? I thought that
was just a UKian thing.

I thought it was a movie in a theater. On TV is it? Well then most
likely I'll not see it there either because I don't watch much nightime
TV.

Probably paid for by George SoreA$$.

Isn't there a law against foreign parties trying to influence U.S.
Elections?

"Probably", so therefore "is" -- hrm? ;-)

Possibly. But would that be relevant? (1) This TV mockumentary
has been shown in the UK (no doubt with leakage into continental
EU). The USians will have to cut their own weeds. (2) It wasn't
AFAICT trying to influence anyone's elections, merely explore an
imaginary but very plausible scenario. Anyhow, Dubya seems to be
taking care of the electoral influencing nicely, on his ownsome.

You probably (so therefore do) need to watch it before deciding.

That must simplify life enormously. No need to learn from the
world around you, or think about anything. Boy, am I jealous!

Sonny boy,

If it's brown and stinky, I don't usually need to step in it to see if it's
SH!T. It's called experience. You can step in all the liberal Sh!t you
want to. . . .

*heh* Had me going there for a moment. :-) Now I _know_ you're
trolling. Nobody is _that_ idiotic: "experience" without input.
For sure -- that would spare a dummy/bigot a _lot_ of brainwork.

Never mind. You have served your purpose, by helping to prolong
this thread and draw it to the attention of readers who may find
themselves curious to watch it when it comes around. Thank you.

Dear Dumb Retarded LIEberal,

The disrepect shown by the 10/19 toward the President is equalled only by my
disrepect of both Bill and Hillary Clinton. Now if it had been Bill
Clintoon getting offed, I might be interested. Just deserts, you might say,
and so might the 50 people who have mysteriously died around him and all the
others he attempted to have killed.

At least GWB served in the National Guard. Your hero Clintoon dodged his
service.

Charles of Schaumburg
