A growing trend is also to have surgery performed overseas.

Apparently it's not as risky as it used to be...

Re: IM ASKING FOR DONATIONS FOR HEART SURGERY

A very popular trend in Latin America, for sure, & we know their favorite
country in which to have it done for free.

The shame is, I know a girl(a singer who is married to a bass playing
friend of mine) who really *DOES* have this condition; her husband is
self-employed, and while he makes a decent living, this is going to DRAIN
them financially!

It is the same condition that killed John Ritter, so she has to be
monitored and will have a lengthy stay in the hospital.

Now, if this guy really *DOES* have this condition, I feel bad for you;
but as I said there are places where you cn sign up for free or reduced
care. And do it now!

If he does not, and is doing this as a phising ploy to get the
unsuspecting to send him money, then: YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELF
FOR FEIGNING A SERIOUS ILLNESS, AND THINK ABOUT THE PEOPLE THAT REALLY
*DO* HAVE THIS CONDITION!!!!!!!!!!!

It is also illegal. In San Fracisco a person put an ad in a paper that
said, "Quick! Rush your $1 to: " with an address. He received about
$11,000. When questioned in court, he said "I never said they would *GET*
anything!"

Judge didn't see it that way. He got 'something', alright!

Re: IM ASKING FOR DONATIONS FOR HEART SURGERY

20 thou is dirt cheap for heart surgery. My surgeon, alone, billed
$24,000 although I believe insurance co. only gave him 12. The week in
the hospital alone was about $140,000. There were also a lot of side
bills - I'll bet the total was ~$200,000. And, this was 6 years ago,
so figure double today ;)

The $1 scam is legal if the person sends $1 with name and address and

In a recent (today) message on the Toyota group, he is talking about
changing the oil in his new Sion for the first time. (Thank you,
Google)

Need I say more?

Assuming this is not a hoax, another option would be a university's medical
school.

If you do a search for his email address in google you will find that
he's been involved in other scams such as the $6.00 investment scam...

Oh, I had no intention of donating money. I just don't do that online.

LOL

I try real hard not to post to a multiposted posting as this one is. I
have removed the other NGs for this one time. I suspect this is a hoax
as most of them are. Like the chain letters of old, send a dollar to
help ect and the poster gets 1000 responses at one dollar a pop, worse
yet, open up your PayPal account so I can get even more, LOL. Cute
little trick. Yes, I am a cynic, I've seen too many scams on the
internet I guess.
