"stay the course" has been a part of GWB as his ever-present smirk for three

Hey, don't say "stay the course" like that....after all, your dear leader
never said it, right?
Yes, and I do prefer what you chose to call 'wishy washy dim" so a guy in
the oval office who talks out of both sides of his lying mouth, and has been
the worst, most harmful chief executive the US has had in over a century.

Lies for sure. clinton commited perjury. He is a luck guy. Most of us
mortals would have went to jail.

I think Warren Harding and Richard Nixon might have a slight edge on
him.

They're switching to a new one. Snow was talking about this yesterday
and trying to make it seem like Bush never said "stay the course."
The new slogan will be, "What, me worry?"

Like we'd have enough room in our prisons for every husband who lied about
extra-marital sex.

Nixon was smart and a deep thinker and Nixon was willing to fight Congress
to get what he wanted. Nixon was willing to veto legislation, he was bold
in some foreign policy matters (as, for example, in going to China) that
turned out pretty well, he "sequestered" funds as a creative way of working
a budget fight with Congress. There were more than a few things to admire.
His downfall was fundamentally his own fault but if he'd had some close
advisers willing to stand up for what's right, his Presidency might have had
a happier ending.
Some contrasts with Bush couldn't be more stark. Bush may be smart but he's
willfully ignorant so we cruise into Iraq without an exit strategy, he's
unwilling to confront Congress on anything so the deficit balloons.
On the other hand, there are similarities: crappy advisers unwilling to
stand up for what's right and therefore let the train wreck happen? Bush
has those, too.
Bush had a better Secretary of State (Kissinger was smart, true, but myopic
and fundamentally lacked confidence in America and, so, saw everything in
terms of military power) but he pissed him (Powell, the better Secretary)
away. Who's advising the Bush administration? Well, as it turns out,
Kissinger is advising the Bush administration. I can't believe they'd let
Kissinger near the White House after 1975 but they do. That's got to be
prime stupidity.
I think Nixon actually felt remorse about the people who died on his watch.
I think Bush sees it as just the cost of doing business. It's his miliarty,
they're there to serve his needs, so he sends them to die. And he'll never
let his conscience be bothered by however many thousands of Iraqis died,
they're completely inconsequential.

I don't know too many husbands who have done that. Hopefully you are
not speaking from experience.

They seem to forget, perhaps intentionally, this was about a boss and a
subordinate while on duty in the workplace. Had clinton got hisself a
motel room and performed off duty then I would care less. Instead he
chose to try and cover up the lusty affair. Go baby!

Yes, you do know husbands who have done that, they just haven't told you
about it. Approximately 22% of husbands are unfaithful. 70% of their
spouses don't find out. We'd need about 20million more prison cells.
Then there's the ones who lie on their 1040s...
