It's not a "site," it's a NewsGroup. If you don't like the anarchic way it
works, you can get moderated Toyota information elsewhere.

No, it is not a "site." Maybe you should figure out where the hell you are
before you start issuing directives. You will look a lot less like a moron.
(ok, a little less)

Yup, I could do without this too, though I just try to ignore
it, it just adds to the clutter unnecessarily.
There are plenty of NG for political topics, so I haven't quite
figured out why people do this on a Toyota group. If there
was no other venue I could understand it. I have plenty of
political opinions too (and I have read some pretty objectionable
stuff here) but I won't voice them here.

Hey, EB, knock yourself out! We don't mind at all!
I suppose it could be argued that the discussions that occur here are part
of the Toyota 'lifestyle', since it (used to) take a differrent breed of
person to drive a Toyota in the first place!

I never do that. Anybody might end up having something interesting to
contribute about the primary subject of this NG. Or, if not, maybe they'll
post something about Toyotas. ;-)

Um, it's not a 'site', it's a Usenet Newsgroup, a bit of a different beast
altogether...
And, we like discussion issues almost as much as we like discussing Toyotas!
If you have a question or a comment, please feel free! There are a lot of
knowledgable people here to help you with whatever.

Because
A) They cant post them on a political NG due to their comments not
being worthy of reading by those who are actually interested in the
subject - so they dont get a bite and come here.
B) Because they are incapable of holding their own with people who care
about the discussion and have actually invested time and effort in
answering. Coming here they know they'll get pointless banter with no
real outcome and no-one really gives a damn apart from those who
complain it shouldnt be here.

Yeah, that's my philosophy, also.
I only KF known trolls...after playing with them for a while... ;)

Actually, aren't all arguments basically "pointless banter"?
I know up front that I'll never turn Scott and dbu into fire-breathing
Democrats, eager to lay down their lives for Hillary, any more than they'll
have me advising my loved ones that Bush is the savior of mankind.
In the automotive area, no one will ever convince a rabid Nissan Z car
lover that a Toyota Supra is a better car.
That's what makes horse races and baseball games.

Very good horse sense Mack. A frend of mine passed away a few months
ago, his nickname was Mac and he was a stout democrat. We used to have
hard discussions about politics only face to face and not on the
internet.
