OT: meanwhile, over at the recruiting office

http://abcnews.go.com/GMA/story?id=2626032&page=1

Is it really too much to ask of the recruiting personnel to make them at
least tell the truth?

Scott, you may call me a liberal, but think very carefully about calling me
a coward. Unless you relish talking thru a split lip. Be warned.
And you have the chutxpah to call Democrats vicious.

Yeah, that's one problem we lilberals have. We're honest and we expect
honesty. You'd think after 6 years of Dubya and 12 years of a
Republican-controlled House of Representatives, that we would have learned
differently.

There is absolutely NOTHING honest about you liberals.

You run from your beliefs...

All you can do is run negative campaigns hiding your true
beliefs. When people find out your true beliefs they throw you out on
your rumps.

You must get TV from Planet Zetar or something. Last night - at least on
the Faux Network affiliate - the Republicans ran a whole slew of attack ads
against Patty Wetterling, which all contained the most outrageous lies.
None of these lies would make the least sense to anyone with a brain.
Apparently, they're betting the farm on the moron vote turning out big. At
one point, they ran three negative ads in a row. One of their ads complains
about "negative advertising!" I surfed over to Patty's site and sent her
another $50. Go, Patty, Go! Go to DC and start impeachment hearings!

Hahahah. Reality has a noticeably liberal bias.

None of us liberals are hiding our true beliefs. We truly believe that one
must be stupid and/or gullible to vote Republican. We truly believe that
Dubya's failed foreign policy is breeding terrorists and making us less
safe. We truly believe that massive Republican deficits are bad. We truly
believe that gay-bashing gay Republicans are hypocrites (we don't care that
they're gay, mind you, we just care that their fundie-baiting hypocrisy is
going to hurt other gays). We truly believe that the rich, having
benefitted the most from living in this country, can cough up a larger share
of tax revenue. We truly believe that we should leave the planet in a
liveable condition for the next generation. We truly believe that
supporting torture is going to turn away potential friends overseas. We
truly believe that people should help each other. We truly believe that to
deny reality is bad long-term policy. We truly believe that Dick Cheney is
a lying, evil sack of shit. We truly believe that Dubya is a moron with
megalomaniac tendencies. We truly believe that Dennis Hastert knew about
Foley and did nothing about him. Some of us truly believe in God. We truly
believe that God expects us to be good to strangers. We truly believe that
God will hold us to account for the 655,000 Iraqis that were killed by a
moron's pointless invasion of Iraq. I believe Jesus' teachings lead to
humility and not arrogance. We believe that God DOES hear the prayers of a
Jew. Or a Muslim. We truly believe that God does care for all His
children, even if they're atheists. We believe that the Constitution is
important, even when it's incovenient. We believe that honesty is
important, even when it's inconvenient. We believe that the US is special
and that we can set an example for the world and did so for many years and
that the current Administration is undoing a lot of good work and losing a
lot of good will.

However, as P.T.Barnum once said, you won't go broke underestimating the
intellingence of the American public. I truly believe that there are enough
simple-minded, jingoistic fools willing to vote for failed Republican
policies that the elections will be close. If Rove prays, I'm sure he
offers up prayers of thanks that Barnum was correct. But I don't think Rove
prays or believes in God; I think he just craves temporal power and finds
the Christian Right to be useful dupes (and, unsurprisingly enough, there's
a book about that which recently hit the shelves).

Well, not from reich-wingers we don't.

I know I have. The reich-wingers seem to think nothing of lying
through their teeth on a regular basis. Business as usual.

DH, you have one helluva way with words... Cheers!

From another true believer (and not the Republicants idea of a true
believer)
