I'm not sure, but I think some Tercels (like the '95 Tercel) were
assembled in either the Hino or Daihatsu factory (probably Hino), and
a Toyota badge was put on the grill.

A recent Toyota shareholders annual report says some vehicles
coming out of the Hino (or Daihatsu) plant will carry the Toyota
badge. The quality in those affiliate plants is quite good.
