"The resolution passed says the military's ban on openly gay soldiers
violates the school district's equal rights policy for gays."
Seems rather petty and restrictive for a progressive area such as San
Francisco.

Just let the San Fran idiots have a taste of why it might be
a good idea to have military around....

According to the article the Defense Department's "Don't Ask, Don't
Tell" policy is at the root of this animosity toward the military.
That is why they are banning the JROTC. It seems they should be
banning the entire US Military from the entire district, including
service members, military bases, businesses that contract with the
military and all such other entities. Then THAT will really show the
military who is boss.

There was just an interview on O'Reilly with a representative from the
school board and a city council person. The school board is saying that
there are somewhere around 1200 kids that are asking for a JROTC course at
the high schools. The kids want it. The parents want it. Only Mayor Newsome
and the council do not want it. And, they rammed (no pun intended) this
through without even asking what the will of the city is.

Everybody will cheer until after it has passed and they find out how
much it will cost.

This is fine if it is what they want. Now all the federal monies for
ALL their programs should be withdrawn and let the "will of the
people" be paid for by these same people.

The irony is, the San Francisco Liberals look at Nancy as being too
moderate.
