Re: Claremont Toyota = Lemon Dealership

You need to Chill out, I don't think this is not unussual, it goes with the
territory of buying a foriegn car. It is a japanese car and needs japanese
parts that come from japan not detroit. You chose to buy and support the
Japananese economy as to supporting the American economy, so your part is
being made by someone in japan so just patiently wait while he makes it and
ships it to you, not like someone in the US is making it for you and could
overnight it to you. Although I sure they could use the work.

You're quite correct, Hachi. Don't you just love people who try to be the
"world's foremost authority" and don't know what the hell they're talking
about? This fellow must own nothing but American iron. But then, I do
too, since I have an Avalon. Besides being built in Georgetown KY, it even
has a Delco radio/cd changer!
A lot more American than a Chevy Chevette I had over 20 years ago....it had
a jack made in Venezuela, a radiator cap from England, and a glove box door
from Canada. (and that's just the stuff I know about!)

and BTW, Toyota's plant in Georgetown gets its parts from over 70
suppliers....in the USA.

I love seeing anti-Japanese car twits being owned.

A United Nations plot, obviously. (Or do we blame the Liberals?)

Like the two+ years it Chrysler to redesign and remake the defective 4sp
stick shift trans in my '81 Horizon.

FYI that Chevette was a UK designed car.
It was a miserable beast.

From parts anywhere in the world.

The A/C blower resistor failed in my wife's Sebring.
A common failure of the part made in Mexico.
The replacement which looked very crude and didn't fit without some
surgery came from a low cost European country.

I thought Chrysler was an Indian word meaning "Broken Transmission".

My LHS' tranny was OK. My 92 Gr VGer was fine until I did a fluid change a
couple weeks ago, now it's starting to do weird stuff, esp when cold. It
was the ONLY good thing about the van! And, I used ATF+4 specifically!

75% of Avalon's parts (on average) are North American content, just like a
US made car.

In a lot of Avalons, NA content approaches 90-90%, because even the
engines and transmissions are made in the US. Same goes for Sienna.

If you get the Sienna with the Avalon engine, most of the van is made in
the US.

Gee, one Camry I saw had a "J" vin, meaning final assembly in Japan, and
*IT* was 75% US content!

No, that's a *BAD* part!

Ask my wife with a NC built tranny in her BMW.

I saw one in MINT condition a couple weeks ago! Good concept, poor
execution.

Same goes for the Vega. That could have been a Corolla Killer! It had the
looks, and had power (with the Cosworth engine). But the run of the mill
Vega was a rolling nightmare, and needed a diaper around the HG and the
oil pan.

BWAHAHAHAHA!!!!

He don't know me very well, do he?

My latest acquisition was a Scion. Why?

Because it's one of the last Toyotas you can buy made In Japan from 100%
Japanese parts!

When I buy a Japanese car, I want a Japanese car! I had a 1998 Camry for a
while after a tire dealer didn't thighten the lug nuts on my Corolla, and
drove it for 3 months. Nowhere NEAR as well made as the Japanese version.

One caveat: my US built Honda was a GREAT car.
