Political correctness strikes again.
---------------------------------------
CHICAGO - A public Christmas festival is no place for the Christmas
story, the city says. Officials have asked organizers of a downtown
Christmas festival, the German Christkindlmarket, to reconsider using a
movie studio as a sponsor because it is worried ads for its film "The
Nativity Story" might offend non-Christians.

Considering that "The Nativity Story" is a myth anyway, who cares?
Aren't there more important things to worry about like our dull
President hopping around the Middle East on a plane? What the hell is
he doing over there? His dad is taking care of things over here.
What did you do for Ramadzan this year? Did you fast during the day?

This again!
If people could just be honest, we could see the end to this argument. It's
got nothing to do with religion. Tell it like it is: Most of these
decorations are tacky, like plastic flamingos, or having an old rusty car
rotting on your front lawn.

Did you read the article? Chicago doesn't want to "offend"
non-Christians. It has everything to do with religion and secularism.

Because for some people, there's more to religion than the children's
stories.

Yes. I've read it at least 500 times. The religious aspect is a red herring
for the simple minded. The truth is that it's much more difficult to tell
someone that their taste in decorations is hideous.

The Virgin Birth... whutup widdat? Better not get too close to him --

"Ouch - that hurt!"
"You'll get more than a slap if you don't stop acting the fool, my

"Promise?" retorted the pert Robbit with a pout.

Perhaps so. But if you're a Christian, then you believe the Nativity story.
If not, how was Christ born?
But, that's besides the point. There was a similar situation in New York a
few years ago, where the display of a nativity scene was disallowed; then
the New York City Hall placed a Koran in the lobby for Rama-lama-ding-dong.
That's a LOT more offensive to me, occurring a year after the WTC was
brought down!
They wouldn't allow a Nativity scene, and yet, the Koran was on display in
City Hall?

So, let me get this straight. It is better for a city official to
stomp on someone's religious sensibilities than their decorative
abilities? You are so full of **it!

What's wrong with the picture is that some people are very bored and can't
find ways to amuse or occupy themselves.
