I do not know the specific location of the oil sending unit on your car, but
it should not be too difficult to find on a 4 cylinder engine. The oil
sender is unlikely to be on the side of the engine with the exhaust manifold
or on the back side of the engine where the transmission is mounted, so that
leaves the front of the engine and the side of the engine opposite the
exhaust manifold as likely places to start looking. If the sender does not
turn up there, then look on the side with the exhaust manifold and at the
back.

The oil sender is a cylinder about 1-1/2" in diamer with a single wire
coming out the top.

Re: 89 Tercel

I found it on the exhaust side towards the back. I had to get a flashlight to
find it. It was shaded too much to see it without one. I replaced it and the
new one works.

Thanks for the advice!

Thanks for the report. I guess it was in the last place I would have
looked.
