Here's what happens when you elect a president who just doesn't get it.
Saudis Say They Might Back Sunnis if U.S. Leaves Iraq
By HELENE COOPER
WASHINGTON, Dec. 12 - Saudi Arabia has told the Bush administration that it
might provide financial backing to Iraqi Sunnis in any war against Iraq's
Shiites if the United States pulls its troops out of Iraq, according to
American and Arab diplomats.

This is nothing new. At least they are publicly admitting they are
abetting the enemy.
Tell me Joe, do you agree with the adage "The enemy of my enemy is my
friend" ?

I agree with that last statement.
But, here's the deal: For nothing more than the cost of jet fuel and an
occasional bomb (or "bom", as your president would spell it), Iraq could've
been a nice, quiet place, kept that way by someone we didn't like.
Basically, free stability, provided by someone else. Meanwhile, we could've
roped Iran and Syria into line.
But no. A handful of impotent old men had a pathological need to start a
war, to impress their mistresses.

I am not surprised whatsoever. I am glad they are admitting what most
people know publicly.
HAL lost me money. TM, XOM, CVX have been my best investments.

In this case Al-Qaeda, Iran, Syria, and terrorists are the enemy of
George W. Bush. Since I never see any messages from you condemning
those organizations I assume they are your friend then.

I know you like to assume things like that. You should stop. It makes you
look silly every single day. I know it's simpler to think that way, and it
helps you relax, but it's not appropriate for a patriot. Matter of fact,
Thomas Jefferson considered it treason.

Not quite. Al-Qaeda, Iran, Syria, and terrorists are the enemy of America.
If JSB is an American(*), therefore, they're his enemy, too(**).
You might also look at this article:
http://www.nytimes.com/2006/12/14/world/africa/14somalia.html?hp&ex=1166158800&en=7bcfbcaf7bbeaa90&ei=5094&partner=homepage
which includes this quote: "I'll be honest," said Sheik Muktar Robow Abu
Monsur, the deputy security chief for the Islamists. "America is the best
friend of Islam. It wakes up the sleeping Muslim."
and find further confusion about friends and enemies and the effectiveness
of our policies.
(*) most of us who "contribute" regularly are and JSB hasn't declared
otherwise, at least not that I've noticed, which most non-Americans do at
some point.
(**) and the "enemy of my enemy..." adage is really a shorthand way of
saying that the enemy of your enemy should be evaluated for his potential
utility in defeating the common enemy; not that he's really a friend and
that you should clasp him to your bosom. One uses the enemies of your enemy
in, for example, the way that we aided the Soviet Union to keep them
fighting the Nazis. The ultimate defeat of Nazi Germany owed a lot to
several hundred thousand dead Americans but it also owed quite a bit to many
more dead Soviets. We certainly hoped to find the Soviet Union a permanent
friend after the war but we put Edward Teller to work on the H-bomb, anyway,
just in case.

Since I never see any messages from you condemning slavery or the
stomping of cute baby rabbits, I assume that you are in favor of those
practices.

Wait till golf boy sees my next prediction come true. Libya will be helping
us apply leverage to various uncooperative parties in the Middle East.

Why do you care whether I see your predictions? Are you trying to
impress me? I'm not your type.

To put it another way, you seem to think that waving the flag somehow
justifies your ostrich-like ignorance. My response is this: Stay the hell
away from your grandchildren.

If people like you take over the leadership of this country for any
significant period of time my children may not live long enough to have
grandchildren.
