alarm problem

went to start car an the alarm started going off. had to disconnect
the battery, does anybody have any sugessitions. its a 2001 celica

Is the alarm a factory alarm or an aftermarket one? Is there a remote
starter system installed?

If the alarm a factory alarm and there is no remote starter system
installed, check the switch on the door lock cylinder to see if it is
functioning properly.
