That presumes someone, somewhere thinks she has "charisma"? She is to
charisma as Princess Di was to ugly, IMO.

Maybe she and Bush could share the cost of some charisma counseling
sessions.

He's still breathing. He could resign if the counseling sessions didn't
help.

More to the point, I don't think GWB lacks charisma - I think that's a good
part of the reason he was elected (sort of...) - twice, no less. Time &
again, I've heard people say that they feel they'd like him as a person,
even if they hate his policies & think he's a lousy president. Personally,
I've never seen it, but it's obvious that others do.

My feeling about Bush is that if he appeared at my door asking for a glass
of water,
I'd tell him to drink from the garden hose and go away.
I think his charisma (if he ever had any when in his salad days) is
appealing only to
fundamentalists and other shit-kickers. I can't even stand the sound of
his voice.

George Soros will pump a few more million into Hillary's cause with
hopes of re-invigorating her drive for power. It won't help.

You'd be wrong about that. I'm neither a shit-kicker or a fundie, but I
thought he seemed a nice enough guy (Never voted for him, though).
Hillary, on the other hand, doesn't seem to have a sincerely nice bone in
her body. She's always struck me as an opportunistic phony. I've never
believed she was in love with Slick Willie for even a second. I think she
saw potential in him, and exploited it. Whether she's truly lesbian or not,
as rumored (I couldn't care less about that), she and Willie have never
seemed to be a loving couple. In fact, they're the only first couple in my
lifetime that I've never felt were emotionally connected. Seems like more
of a business partnership, which would explain why she doesn't mind his
um... indiscretions.
I agree, Hillzilla and her famous thankles could use a bit of charisma ...
Lacking charisma, she could use a bit of training on not letting her
nastiness shine through.
Hillzilla's issue with voters will be her appearance. Today, her main
argument seems to be that she and her party are better than the other guys,
but they seem unable to articulate exactly what they will do that is better.
I agree that the other guys (my team) have a long battle ahead, but the
campaign has to be different than, "they suck and we don't" for them to win.
On the other hand, my guys have to show how what they have been doing so far
is not a huge list of blunders and mis-steps.
I have no problem with the fact that we went into Iraq. Given the
intelligence compiled at the time from the entire Intelligence Community
around the globe, I don't see many other options that we could have
employed. Having said that, the aftermath has not gone well. I think a large
part of the problems in the aftermath have to do with American thinking that
all men have certain inalienable rights, the rights to life, liberty, and
the pursuit of happiness. The miscalculation on our part isn't that all men
deserve these rights, but that we erred in how strongly men will fight to
achieve those rights.
Effective governance of people has to stand separately from the religion
that the people may have. When I violate the edicts of my religion, my issue
ought to be with my religion not my government. Having said that, many of
our "social laws" have root in religion -- adultery laws are one example,
there are lots of others. I can't imagine that Islam is so completely
different among Sunnis and Shiites that basing government on one or the
other would present huge problems, but that is the very assumption that got
us to where we are today. I suppose that among Christianity, the differences
among Protestants and Catholics could be akin to the differences among
Sunnis and Shiites.
In any case, Hillzilla and the Democrats can't go around asserting that
republicans got it all wrong without giving us a clue asw to what they would
do differently to make it all right. Bailing out of Iraq is not a viable
option at this juncture, but leaving Iraq when Iraq can stand on its own is
certainly the objective of the current strategy. My point is that the
Democrats have to drift to the right and become more centrist in order to
capture wavering Republican voters.
I do not see a democrat victory in '08 if they continue on the same attack
they are on today. I also see that Republicans will have a difficult time if
they repeat the same strategy they demonstrated in this past election cycle.
Happy New Year ...

He's flip-flopping on Iraq policy since his dad's friends pried his eyes

His voice bothers me, too. But I've spoken with others who share my rather
intense dislike of him as Preseident, & they say he strikes them as a nice
guy - to have as one's neighbor for example, even though they hate his
politics.
