How is this different than the other ten times the story has changed?

How?

Now, the guys will be freed of charges for crimes they did not commit, and
perhaps were not even committed by anyone. If the victim WAS assaulted and
raped by anybody, I feel for her and somebody should be charged and tried.
But, it was pretty clear from the very first day that the three guys that
were charged with the crime were not the ones that perpetrated said crime.
Indeed, they all seem to have air tight alibis.

I am not suggesting the girl was not raped, I haven't got the necessary
information to make that judgement. What I am suggesting is that if she was
raped, she is mistaken about whom her assailants were. Her apparent error
probably means that nobody will ever be charged, and that is sad. Not as sad
as charging and trying the wrong men ...

I live near Durham. The girl now says she probably wasn't raped. We have
more details here than the national news carries. The NC bar has filed a
complaint against Nifong that will probably force him off the case. Once he
is off, it is likely that all charges will be dropped. I suspect in the
end, Durham will be sued by the 3 defendants for ruining several years of
their lives. Quite frankly, these guys are jocks and I don't like jocks but
they were screwed royally.

Tell us the truth, Art. Did you believe they were guilty when the news

It looks like the DA wants off the case now. He has finally been shown
the door.

Those three kids will take that ass hole down.

I hope they take Duke down with him!

I was a jock in school, and have seen some pretty disgusting pack
behavior at parties when alcohol was involved, so what happened didn't
seem to far fetched to me. Sadly, I probably assumed they were guilty
at first. I then saw the 60 minutes show on the case, and that pretty
much did it. What is it about the ego of these District Attorneys?
How many times have we seen them willing to convict innocent people
rather than admit a mistake, or in this case, further their political
careers? Maybe DA should not be an elected position.
This is one case though that I hope those boys sue his ass, and Duke
University for not waiting until the facts were out before taking
action. Good god, they disbanded the Lacrosse team, fired the coach
(what did he do?)
and suspended these young men from school. People need to be held
accountable. They also need to hold the whole DA's office accountable.
A lot of people stood by and let this happen.

Why do you have such animosity towards people? It sounds like you are
either envious of them or you are an elitist liberal.

If you were a conservative you would consider them innocent until
proven guilty. Rapists should pay for their deeds but obviously these

Get over your jealousy of those who have something you don't. It
certainly doesn't become a "conservative" as you pronounce yourself.
