How to change the light bulb inside the gear selector ?

The car in question is a 97 corolla with automatic transmission. The
light bulb inside the gear selector has burnt out. How do I change it ?

Thanks in advance for sharing your knowledge.

Remove the console and then remove the bezel from the shift lever. You may
not have to do this if you can see the bulb plug without removal of the
bezel.

Would you mind telling me how did you do it ? I un-screw the two screws
at the front part of the rear console but still could not remove the
thing, there seems to be something attaching the rear of the rear
console but I couldn't find and screws anywhere.....

If there is a storage compartment in the console, look in the storage
compartment for screws. If there is an ashtray that opens for the back
seat, remove it and look in the ashtray opening for screws.

There are two screws at the bottom of the storage compartment, and, at
least in cars from the 80's, you pull the seats forward to gain access to
two screws on the sides of the console.
