That's exactly what will happen. Saudi Arabia has also said that they
will not allow that, and will back the Sunis.

If Iraq goes into a civil war between the Sunnis and the Shiites, Al
Quada will be even stronger as they support the Sunnis backed by Saudi
money.
In the end it will be either an Iranian controlled Iraq or an Al-Quada
controlled iraq. I think Bidens plan holds the best chance for this
not happening.
