If your OPINION is your identity then ... yes. You did bother to find out
if "racing" meant too much idle speed or if it meant a high performance
engine that was installed by mistake. There never has been an optional
engine in the current or recent generations of USA market Corollas. Lawyers
can't turn wrenches or make warranty decisions. Your OPINION as a course of
action is wholly inappropriate at this stage. Furthermore, the option of
paying $1,200 to keep the "racing engine" is not something Toyota (instead
of the dealer) would offer.

Your arrogance is boundless, Philip. After reading many of your other
posts my suggestion would be for you to change your identity to "Last
Word Philip" as that would match your persona more accurately.
Since this is an unmoderated forum as has been pointed out countless
times, my OPINION is just as valid as yours. Assholes are everywhere,
especially in here. When you become the moderator (or perhaps you've
already appointed yourself that) then I will follow your rules.
As people get older they tend to smooth out their rough edges.
Maturity is something to strive for, not constant bickering and
blow-hardness. If you don't like my posts then just kill-file me so
you won't be annoyed by us little people.

Stuff it. I made a point to separate the Opinion from you. But what do I get
in return? A personal shot. Hey ... you missed.

Drive it around a bit, see how she 'goes'.
If it's a racing engine, it should definately outshine a standard, so I'd be
keeping it.
You probably just got a larger capacity engine instead of the standard one.
That, or it has reinforced internals, resulting in much higher power/torque
than a standard engine, and a few thousand extra revs to play with.
Do not give them any extra cash, you paid for the car you got, if they
fucked up, their problem.
Get the engine ID and the VIN though, and write them down. You are still
entitled to your service period, and whats to say at 10,000km they
'discover' a cracked head gasket and have to replace the engine for you, for
free!
Needless to say, you may well be seeing a lawyer about it in the future, so
have one handy at the start and explain it to him, get them to give you the
final word on what should be done.
if you have to leave your car there for three weeks (not that it takes that
long to drop in a new engine) you should be entitled to another rolla off
the showroom floor as a loan car.

Their mistake!!! you paid for the car, if you want the racing engine, keeo
it! Bear in mind, maintenance is double, both in actual maintenance
required and cost. And they probably won't warranty anything engine
related.

You dim bulb. There is no "racing engine" fitted to the current Corolla.
