It is not refillable, nor should it be necessary to add water during the
life of the battery. Which is almost up I would suppose.

I don't know if the Delco is refillable. But check carefully to see if you
pull back any sticky paper or label that may conceal the openings for adding
water.

IIRC my 2000 XLS has a green eye and is most certainly refillable. Is
still going strong. Have topped it off about twice per year the past 5
years.

Re: 2001 Avalon OEM Battery Question

It's the design. When the green eye turns red, you need a new battery.
Seeing that it is 4 years old, you might want to build it into your budget
because it will be time to replace it soon.

2001 Avalon OEM Battery Question

When I purchased my 2001 Avalon XL new, it came with the Delco "Green Eye"
battery. There does not appear to be any way to access the cells to see if
they need filling. Is this the way this battery is designed or am I missing
something?
