This car was a project in that I was going to upgrade the motor to a
V8, however that required a lot of hassles with Blue Slips etc. and
insurance so reconditioning the 22R motor was the chosen option.

This 4x4 has a 2.2 Litre Unleaded Petrol motor (22R). She is
registered until near the end of May and will have roadworthy
certificate 'pink slip' when sold. There are about 330000km on the
clock. The motor was fully reconditioned approx. 20,000km ago at a
cost of $2,200 with 'Anyparts Auto', NSW and I just had the top end all
rebuilt again and had the carburettor refurbished for over $2,000 with
'Polmar Motors' just before Xmas. So with this work done I know the
motor has no problems and is in VGC and ideal for a trip. It runs
beautifully!

Next were the tyres, so I also added new 31" All Terrain Bridgestones
on to the ROH alloy rims at over $1000 before Xmas so the have about
1000km on them only.

I purchased some recaro bucket seats, a sports steering wheel, had a
custom centre console created (with drink/coffee holder), got new
exhaust, got spotlights and a $500 Redback alarm system with remote
central locking to warn off thieves.

The next part was to get the body up to near perfect which I didn't get
finish. Still to do is patch some small pockets of rust in the 2 doors
(a few centimetres only and on outer shell only), some blemishes here
and there and there was a small scrape on the L/H rear fibreglass wheel
flare that still needs patching. Had I finished the above I was then
going to give it a fresh coat of paint to finish it off. The Bullbar
is legal as to the new laws. This 4X4 also sports a genuine Toyota Tow
Bar to 2500kg.

The car seats 5 adults, the back seat with lap belts but legal. Oh
yeah, and I just purchased a new battery in Dec 2004.

This is a classic, much sought after model, and was one of the first of
this model to come fitted with coil springs fitted front and rear, so
no leaf springs like earlier models. As its VIN is 86 it's nearly 20
years old, so the condition is not what you would expect for a car of
these years as it is in VGC considering. As already said, there are
some small rust spots as mentioned etc. There are also a couple of
stud/clips for the softop missing on the rear but the softop is very
watertight and easy to put up or down. I go through the local lazer
wash and jet sprays don't get in. It really is the base for a great
car and with the added extras has good value.

VIN/Chassis #: RJ700003269
Engine #: 177478122R
Has loads of spare parts for the interior, dashboard and speedo etc.
Added toolkit at rear and spare spotlight to mount on rear.

Negatives As already mentioned I can see;

Touch up 'small' rust spots on outer door shell at bottom
Convertible top need 1 or 2 clips for clip-ons fixed (not urgent)
Slight scrape on fibreglass L/H rear wheel guard
Recaro seat (driver's side) needs minor repair on 2 small tears on bum
side from getting in and out.
Paint is good and will last years yet, but when all work is done a new
coat of paint would top it off
Vehicle owes over $16k (lost track what I put into it)

With added extras and mechanical refurbishment I feel a very fair
approx value is $9-10k. Selling for $8,500

I will sell to the fairest offer and I welcome negotiation on the price
so get yourself a deal.

I hope this 4X4 goes to a good home. I hate loosing my toys but my
'financial controller' said this one has to go as paying 3
registrations is 'ludicrous'! No amount of pampering has worked so
hence this ad. My kids and I love this car.

Vehicle is available for inspection and welcome at pre-arranged times.
I will try and arrange transportation to interstate buyers at buyers
cost but to be negotiated.

Genuine offers expected and no car yards.. thanks anyway

Will consider swap for sports bike or trial bike of similar value.
Please, serious trades.
