Bouncing isn't realy much to do with tires, you'd probably have your
shocks and springs looked at! How old is the car, and how many miles? The
springs on my 85 GTS are ok, but my '85 Celica and the '88 Supra could use
replacing!
Re: Tires for 1995 Toyota Corolla -- Best Deals Online?
Good point. Its a 95 Corolla with 86,000 miles. Right now I'm having
it inspected... soon as I get past that little shock I'll see what I
want to do next. They guy I bought it from said he had new shocks
installed.
What I know for sure is that my 1992 Honda Accord has the 185s, and the
ride is much smoother.
Suggestions on good online locations for buying tires (or shocks for
that matter)?

The 185's will give a bit of a softer ride, but you'll also notice an
increase in hadling.
As far as buying online, I usually buy locally. There is fierce
competition in the tire business and they will bend over backwards to sell
tires. I can generally get them to waive the mounting, balancing, stems, etc
fees and just pay for the tires. Also, if you have a problem, you drive
down the street to where you bought them. Some will even match on-line
prices. Give them a call!
Also, Delta makes some EXCELLENT 185/60-14's at decent prices. Try to find
a Delta dealer. i had one set for about 80,000 miles.

Yeah, the esteems are pretty good. I had some Euro Sports on my
'hachiroku' and then on a '95 Tercel. The Terc came with 155/80-13's and
when I went to the 185's the thing just stuck to the road! hey were also a
traction tire, no snows required! (These are the ones that went 80K)
Re: Tires for 1995 Toyota Corolla -- Best Deals Online?
I used to run Toyos, which are decent tires, but the local dealer is a
X*&$%.
Switched to another dealer about 6 years ago and he talked me into
Delta Vistas. They no longer make the Vista, but I just had the Vistas
pulled off this morning and replaced with Esteems. The Vistas still
were "legal" and had 64K on them, a lot of that on rough dirt and
gravel., but since we get some much rain, figured I better replace them
early.
Put Delta Sentinels on my Camry about 3K ago. Can't comment on
treadwear yet, but traction and noise are great and the price is much
better than Toyo.
Tires for 1995 Toyota Corolla -- Best Deals Online?
The tires I have now are P175/65TR 14... and they are pretty bad. When
I hit a bump at 70mph [like the pot holes on the BW parkway] the car
bounces like a toy.
I want to go up to the "optional" 185/65TR14. My mechanic suggested I
visit tirerack[dot]com, buy the tires I want from there, and have them
shipped to his garage since they have the best prices.
Any suggestions on (1) upgrading to 185, (2) the best brands for Toyota
Corolla, and/or (3) the cheapest online destination for buying tires?

I don't know about "cheapest" but I've bought tires from Tire Rack and
am always satisfied.
As for recommendations, I'd trust the sales people at Tire Rack over
random advice from a news group.
And, as someone said, I doubt the bouncing is due to the tires -
shocks perhaps.
