Went to look at 05,s
Went to the toyota dealer today, to look at the 05 camry and 05
highlander with my son. Just thought I would run by two observations on
these cars.
1) My son has a 15 year old camry with close to 200,000 miles on it, and
still runs excellent, but is thinking about buying a new one, for the next
fifteen years.
He is a fairly tall guy, (medium build) and found his old camry , even
though the outside dimensions, are smaller then the new ones, to have much
less room in driving side, to make it not be a choice for him. The seat
doesnt go back as far as his old one, and the steering wheel stays at a
lower angle.
2) Looked at the highlander. Does anyone feel uncomfortable, with how low
the steering wheel is placed. It seems to be quite a ways lower, then in
most other cars. I mean it feels like its between your legs, instead of at a
more practical and maneuvable position.
I didnt test drive it, but fit and finish seemed excellent, and I
liked the looks of the motor(6 cylinder model). It didnt seemed to cramped
and looked like it would be easy to work on. Plus the layout was nice for
quick pms on the car, with all the clear reservoirs, and dipsticks up front.
The cloth seats, had a nice heavy substantial feel, to the front seats. A
lot of room for second row seating for two adults. Third row seating was a
joke. Maybee for a doll or something, but I would not get that option, and
they fold completely flat anyway.
3) Does anyone notice how all most toyota vehicles, have the same similar
sound when a door is pushed closed. You can definately tell, when a toyota
door is being closed, as opposed to a nissan or honda or an american car. I
wonder why that is. ?
Any thoughts on these matters. Any input much
appreciated
Much regards
