Q about Australian model Toyota Starlet dash

Is it possible to drop in a different dash to the stock unit?
Would like a tachometer in addition to the normal bits, but I don't want a
huge boy-racer one that sits on the dash and blocks vision.
So wondering if any other model Toyota (Mine's a 1998 model) would be able
to donate a dash - and would it plug in to the same wiring loom? (assuming
the stock unit just plugs in)
