The cost of one electronic chip is generally only a few dollars. Chips are
usually mounted on a circuit board, which costs considerably more, as much
as hundreds of dollars.

For automotive repairs, you usually have to replace the entire component,
and if you are talking about a transmission electronic control unit, a new
one can be over a thousand dollars.

'Cost' is very low....

It is the Sell Price that gets to hundreds...
