Despite the pocketbook concerns that most Americans are worried
about-rising gas prices and uncertainty about the job
market-Republicans continue to focus on their Washington power grab.
The Washington Post recently reported that 82% of Americans feel the
economy is getting worse or not improving [4/21/05].
This decline in consumer confidence echoes these concerns according to
Lynn Franco, director of the New York-based Conference Board's Consumer
Research Center:
"Looking ahead consumers do not anticipate an improvement in economic
growth nor in their incomes. And they expect an even tighter job market
over the summer months."

But the fact speak for themselves. The growth in the economy is
between 3% and 4% annually and has been for several years. The
unemployment rate is a 5.2%, below the average of any ten years
for the past thirty.
This is the liberal media reporting, one must look elsewhere for
the whole truth. The liberal media like the NY Times, Post and
the Tribune newspaper are report widely the poll that say over
60% of American are against privet SS accounts. What they don't
report is the poll of American under 50, the only ones that will
be able to select a privet account, if the chose, who are in
favor of the opportunity to do so by a two to one margin?
Please, if it is your desire to report to the people in this NG,
post ALL of the facts, not just those with which you agree, or
stop posting. Most Americans today do not rely on the major
media any more for their information. Get into the 21st century
or get lost. WBMA.
By the way why is the fact that the Republicans increased their
majority in both the Senate and the House and won the Presidency
again in the last election considered to be a 'power grab' by the
left? That power was granted to them by the voters

Mike you are wrong again. Even the young, when polled, were against the
personal accounts according to the polls.

Liberal media, thats all you neocons scream. The media is RIGHT leaning if
anything, do you know how much scandle they could report on and how often
they could beat up on the republicans if they wanted to? They don't because
they try thier best to play the middle of the road and not piss off all the
neocon rednecks in this country.
