Public Not Happy with Policies on the Economy, Iraq and Social Security
Washington, DC - A new poll by the Pew Research Center for the People
and Press found that President Bush's approval rating has plummeted
to only 43 percent.
These low approval ratings are being driven by negative marks with
regard to the President's handling of the economy (only 35 percent
approve), Iraq (only 37 percent approve) and Social Security (only 29
percent approve).
According to the Pew report, opinions of Bush's "handling of the
economy are now the biggest factor influencing his overall rating."

New York Times again? What bad economy? It is the highest on
record. Look at the GNP the current income to the US treasury is
the highest in history.
His number will change now that the price of gas has dropped
below $2. No matter how much you dislike the President, he IS
the President, and his current approval ratings are meaningless,
he won the election and can not run again. ;)

Interesting, with unemployment at 5.3%, home ownership at an all time
high, wonder where this "fear" comes from? DNC and folks like Learning
Richard?

A record number of people own SECOND and THIRD homes as investment
properties. Charging more for rent than ever before. Meanwhile, many
workers are being asked to take pay CUTS to keep their jobs. Others
are being laid off only to find that jobs at the rate they've been
used to are not to be found. People who were counting on promised
pensions are being told that business are no longer required to keep
said promises. Airline workers are being forced to take pay cuts too.
Meanwhile the cost of living is going up at a higher rate so that
means people are actually making LESS money.
The gap between the richest and the poorest in america is growning at
a record rate.
All this surely makes you proud.

How is that the Presidents fault? That is the American consumer
fault. Keep buying more toyotas and other imported products and
even more jobs will be lost.

That's a scary thought to those of us without trust funds or
well-invested families

This wouldn't apply to CEOs or their like, of course -- note the
extremely strong correlation between this population group,
republicans, and contributors to BC04?

If I made in 1999 what I make now, I'd be in a 6 bedroom house. Now, I
can't even swing a townhouse.
All because I choose to practice "Traditional Family Values" (after
all, this Congress ain't gonna help support "No Child Left Behind" so
my 3 yr old daughter is only safe at home).

This might be meaningful if bush reads but he doesn't and damn proud of it
too!

Lots of people equate perception to reality. If this wasn't true, bush
wouldn't be president.

Amazing, but true. The right in general seems to take pride in
pigheadedness.
"Dammit, I'm going to invade Iraq. All I need is an excuse. Get me
one, and we'll sell the public on it."
That may be your opinion but he was reelected so I guess your
opinion does not mean too much. LOL

You are correct they went with reality and did not fall for
Kerrys BS. Thank goodness we have a President that understands
that we are at war with the worlds radical Islamic terrorist.
Imagine were we would be in ten year
if we relied on the UN to protect us, like Kerry wanted. LOL

Yeah, those bogus, frequent terror alerts prior to the election (that we
haven't seen since) sure did the trick, huh?
