If the seal isn't leaking alot, you may be able to get away with just
removing the axle and replacing the seal. It's something you can probably do
with a basic set of hand tools, but you'll also need something to drive the
new axle seal into the housing. If the seal is leaking enough to where the
shoes are soaked, you will need to replace those, and if it's gotten to that
point you can bet alot of the grease has been washed out of the bearing, so
you will have trouble with that in the future.
