If you consider that there have been an average of 160,000 troops in
the Iraq theater of operations during the last 22 months, that gives
a firearm death rate of 60 per 100,000. The rate in Washington D.C.
is
80.6 per 100,000. That means that you are 25% more likely to be shot
and killed in our Nation's Capitol, which has some of the strictest
gun control laws in the nation, than you are in Iraq.
Conclusion: We should immediately pull out of Washington, D.C

Chaos reigns in D.C.
Perhaps we should station troops in some neighborhoods. I wonder how
long it'd be before the murder rate drops.

Better yet, let the law-abiding citizens carry weapons on the street like
the bad folk do.

I think it's wishful thinking around here.

I wish the cops would go practice a bit more...
I hate it when I hear they shot at a perp and wounded him.
I want that perp to be DeaD!
Saves us all a lot of grief!!![color=blue]

You've still got one of those? Hang on to it. They're already
worth more than original price.
I'm no "9" fan, but I'd love to have one of those in my collection.

Nice. I'm still trying to find the elusive Singer 1911. Yes, Singer
Sewing Machines made .45's during WWII.

I belong to a gun club where I can fire anything I own. But with
anti-choice, anti-gun nuts in Kalifornia on the rise, we never know
how much longer we'll be allowed to exist.

I have heard that the singers bring big bucks! I fell heir to the R-R
some time back, was an NRA resale ($10 if I remember) back in the late
50's. Some wear but still had cosmoline around recoil spring.
Shoot pretty good to me palm size groups freehand at about 20 yards -
I've had a stroke and kind of unsteady so that group seems fine to me.

A widow/neighbor of a friend of mine was going through her attic after
her husband's death (you know what's coming here). She found an
Ithaca 1911 still wrapped in paper and cosmoline, unfired. My friend
John gave her the $250.00 she asked for a selling price.
I could still smack him for his luck.

It is nice to hear that some of the "good ones" are still out there.
Wife got irritated at me cause I sold an old rifle (Winchester 1886
40-82) my dad had given me some years ago. It was pretty clean got
grand for it. She said "it was from your dad"
I replied to her, why leave it in the safe if someone could use it.
I'd never fire it so why hang on to it?
peace now though. I am nearly down to single digits in guns now. So
hard to sell in wonderful "Callyfornia".
Can't even give away magazines for the 59 or mini-14 that I've owned
legally for 20+ years - bunch of crap

I just sold a Remington 22-250 for the same reasons.

Worse yet: I can't even GIVE my own son two of my rifles.
Kalifornia's laws prevent me passing him my AR-15's.
Crazy.
