This is a group that dares to preach to us about animal suffering.
According to the articles they pick up strays not to see if they can
find them homes but to put them down.

PETA has the right idea with things but they are obviously a little far out
there sometimes.
Re: OT Two Peta members charge with animal cruelity
The SPCA beats PETA as the leading killer of animals. The SPCA
puts down, their definition of kills, millions of animals every
year. My one grand daughter is a Veterinarian who once served on
the SPCA BOD. She tells people, if you have a concerned for
stray animals donate to the "Friends of Animals" NOT the SPCA.
The primary business of PETA and the SPCA is raising money from
animal lovers.

Well you are finally right about something Mike! Not all SPCA is like that,
however. They do get away with a LOT of bullshit. They can basically enter
your property, tell authorities that you are not taking care of your
animals, even if you are, take them and sell them. They have done this with
prize animals like horses and such, and the owners are left helpless.

Not every SPCA operates the same way
PETA brings to mind the radical abolitionists of the 19th century.

Just as with religion, a few assholes always manage to fubar the image of the
group; thought the PETArds don't have a great image in the first place (IMO,
of course).

They are an example of a group that is far too radical to survive on
the normal in the USA
Too much for me, that's for sure. And of course, I love animals, but
that steak and shrimp I had tonight sure was tasty.

Richard: They are an example of a group that is far too radical to survive on
the normal in the USA
Yeah- like that Roy Horn thing they did - I'm still seething about that one,
despite agreeing with their point of view in general. They've lowered
themselves to terrorism

So were those baby back ribs hubby (Who got back from Korea today!) and I had
for dinner.
