'85 Celica Cruise Control

After I had my engine replaced the cruise control didn't work. Everything
is attached, all the fuses look good; any ideas why the CC, which was
working fine with the old engine won't work with the new one?

Does the CC light come on? If yes, then check the brake light clutch, and
parking brake switches.
If no, then check the fuses with a meter, unlpug the harness from the
actuator and CC ECU and make sure the contacts in the connectors aren't
buggered up.

Interesting. I can't remember if it worked or not before I took it for
inspection, but during the inspection King Kong (an associate of mine)
broke the E-Brake cable. The BRAKE light stays off, but...

Yeah, the Cruise Main light comes on when you push the switch; I don't
hagve a manual and don't know which fuse to check. Guess I'll check 'em
all (um, I do have one of those 'cheaters', with an LED in it. Put it to
the fuse and it lights if good)

If the Cruise Main light comes on, then the CC just doesn't set? If the
Cruise light comes on, then the fuses are probably all ok. Check to see if
the cable that comes out of the actuator in the engine compartment is
connected to the throttle body - it usually shares the bell crank with the
throttle cable.

Next, check the brake and clutch pedal switches (1 for each) and make sure
they're not depressed.

The parking brake switch is in the housing for the parking brake handle.
The switch is probably OK if the brake light is not lit.

After that, detail the master tech's truck in exchange for some diagnosis

Not a good exchange, unless, of course, he installs my new exhaust at the
same time. Then he STILL owes ME $100!!! 9Um, you oughta see his
