OT Move On dot Org wants Democrats to be anti troops/pro Saddam
Dear MoveOn member,
Next week, President Bush is expected to give a speech in which,
despite the chaos and car bombs and rising daily attacks by
insurgents, he'll argue that everything is going well in Iraq and we
should stay the course. It's clear that the president is out of touch
with reality—as Republican Senator Chuck Hagel said, "It's like
they're just making it up as they go along. The reality is that we're
losing in Iraq."
We believe that it's time to stand up to him and demand that Congress
begin bringing our troops home, while doing what we can to support a
stable Iraq. We got into this war the wrong way, and it's time to get
out the right way.
--------------------
And of course we saw the results today with the Swimmer Teddy Kennedy
making an ass out of himself...just like Move On told him...

Almost got rumsfeld to do the honorable thing,,,,, *again*. I'd say it was
one of Teddy's better days. Now, if bush would resign - but there's no
chance of an honorable showing from him. BTW, what's any of this got to do
with 'Democrats to be anti troops/pro Saddam'? Been sniffing the tub at the
meth lab again??
Re: OT Move On dot Org wants Democrats to be anti troops/pro Saddam
What's anti-troop about wanting them home safe? The National Guardsmen
(Guardspeople) I know are all interested in coming home safe and the sooner,
the better.

I suppose you have to have this explained to you too. You really must

From a neocon that's pretty funny. You're in the lower IQ bracket, that's
for damn sure. If you're going to make a statement like that, back it up.

Actually, I don't think you're able to 'see' much of anything. Looser

So explain it. How is it anti-troop to want them home safe and soon?
While you're at it, you frequently pick the most interesting metaphors. You
could explain how a flat rock has a different IQ than some other kind of
rock.

If one would take the time to search the Congressional Record of
the Senate Armed Service Committee hearing over the past few days
they would discover the President assessment is correct. The
general testifying before that committee made it abundantly clear
that there are NOT more attacks, the number is around half of
what they were before the Iraq election. The Iraqi are not
opposed to us being in Iraq. The Iraqi people are turning in
more insurgence every day. They are showing collation forces
were weapons are hidden. The rate in the number of Iraqis leading
coalition forces to terrorist is up 1000% from before the
election. There are far more trained Iraqi security forces
leading the fight and more are being trained by NATO forces in
other countries. The major problem in Iraq is MONEY. The Iraqi
constitution needs to be enacted before the Iraqi government can
spend any of the billions in their treasury.
German wolverines trained ed by Hitler did exactly the same
things, for three years after war WW II, that the terrorists are
doing in Iraq today in an effort to prevent the new free
government from coming to power. Like in Germany it will be the
people turning in the terrorist that will end the destruction in
Iraq. Do some research on the period between 1945 and 1947 if
you wish to be enlightened.
Get the facts then decide WBMA. Listing to the neo fascists on
the evil left, like little richard and moveon that are showing
their hatred the President, would like to make it appear we are
loosing the war which is far from the truth. The democrats are
simply trying to separate the war in Iraq from the worldwide war
on Islamic terrorist for political purposes so they can attack
the President without looking like the are against the war on
terrorist.

You wouldn't be referring to the American DEF Camps set up all over
Germany by Eisenhower during the same time?
Quote:
One month before the end of World War 11, General Eisenhower issued
special orders concerning the treatment of German Prisoners and
specific in the language of those orders was this statement,
"Prison enclosures are to provide no shelter or other comforts."
Eisenhower biographer Stephen Ambrose, who was given access to the
Eisenhower personal letters, states that he proposed to exterminate the
entire German General Staff, thousands of people, after the war.
Eisenhower, in his personal letters, did not merely hate the Nazi
Regime, and the few who imposed its will down from the top, but that HE
HATED THE GERMAN PEOPLE AS A RACE. It was his personal intent to
destroy as many of them as he could, and one way was to wipe out as
many prisoners of war as possible.
Of course, that was illegal under International law, so he issued an
order on March 10, 1945 and verified by his initials on a cable of that
date, that German Prisoners of War be predesignated as "Disarmed Enemy
Forces" called in these reports as DEF.
He ordered that these Germans did not fall under the Geneva Rules, and
were not to be fed or given any water or medical attention. The Swiss
Red Cross was not to inspect the camps, for under the DEF
classification, they had no such authority or jurisdiction.
