As Deep Throat might say, "Follow the cable..."

Locate the throttle cable and get a GOOD spray lubricant. Spray the
lubricant into the cable, from both ends, if you can, and also any
linkages, etc. This should free things up.

Remove the hose from the throttle body, spray the inside of the throttle
body with aerosol EFI/carb cleaner, wipe out, open the throttle plate,
repeat.

also make sure your carpeting / floor mats aren'tt interfering with
the gas pedal.

What exactly do you mean by "stiff"?

Is it really hard to get popped loose after you let go of the pedal, but
then moves freely thereafter? Or is it hard to move at *any* time?

First one is a dirty throttle body, second is a binding cable.
