OT YOU WANNA WIN THIS War In Iraq?

OK... I am sick and tired of the bellyaching from both sides on this
bullshit.

I ALREADY SAID 'LETS PULL out', but NO..... THE same Moronic Pussy
NEOCONS and "'publikns" that suppored this war now say 'LETS STAY AND
FIGHT YOU Lilly Livered Varmit!!'

Fine then lets fight!!!!

A FORCE OF 500,000, STAT.

We need to increase the Troop Levels in Iraq to 500,000 Americans or
Coalition forces under joint Iraqi-American control. Iraqi-law,
American-military.

A "MAN TO A MAN" POLICY FOR TRAINING IRAQI SOLDIERS.

Since Bush has it in his head that there are 130,000 combat-ready Iraqi
Soldiers... Let us put 150,000 of our troops on a MAN TO A MAN
relationship with the Iraqis. Eat, Drink, Sleep and Shit American
DISCIPLINE And Fighting Skills, MAGGOTS.

That way we can make REAL Soldiers over there.

100,000 "SPECIAL FORCES" TROOPS, DISPERSED LIKE CITIZENS.

Set up a special Iraqi Secret Police force to infiltrate and destroy
from within every single pocket of insurgency, even if it is only one
man to man.

250,000 GROUND/LOGISTIC/ETC TROOPS

That is more than enough to crush the FORIEGN INSURGENCY, since the
SPECIAL FORCES and MAN TO A MAN forces will keep Iraq under control.

SECRET TIMETABLE

Set a SECRET TIMETABLE, and PUBLISH IT after WE WIN IN IRAQ.

Erm... this would actually be American Special Forces, not Iraqi. This
is a MILITARY EXERCISE first.

I agree. We either have to crush the insurgency with overwhelming strength
or get out now. The way Bush is running things he will go down as the Jimmy
Carter of the Republican Party. Did you notice how Iran elected one of the
hostage captors from the Jimmy Carter era as their new leader? How ironic.

Well, the problem with that is if we want Iraqis to secure Iraq, then you
can't keep piling in the American troops. At some point, Iraqis - the
general population - has to be willing to point out the assassins, snipers,
murderers, and terrorists to the security forces. As long as the bad guys
can roam the streets with impunity, it doesn't matter how many troops we put
over there because we can't possibly put enough. If we have troops on every
other corner, then the bad guys will hit the corners were there are no
troops. If we put a road block every 5 miles, they bad guys will hit every
2.5 miles. If we cover the east, they will hit the west.

The solution is precisely what Bush said, we have to get Iraqi security
forces up and able to provide independent security. Arabs have to be willing
to want and fight for democracy and decency to the exclusion of terrorism
and hatred.

The problem isn't so much the training of Iraqi soldiers, or the lack of
training, but the unwillingness of common Iraqis on the street to thwart
suspected terrorists. The unwillingness is well founded, don't get me wring.
But it's there nonetheless, and this has got to change before things can get
better.

What's the point of a Secret Timetable? What's the point of a timetable at
all? We went, we have to stay until we are not needed. This is the
timetable.

Actually, this is an American Special Forces operation today, but it would
be better if it were an Iraqi operation. It is better it Iraqis could put
down the insurgency.

Re: OT YOU WANNA WIN THIS War In Iraq?

There are areas of Iraq where insurgents have control but in other areas the
general population would be no more able to point them out then you or I
could find a serial killer in the US. For example, it was recently
discovered that most car bomb factories are right in the cities like Bagdad
and in some cases they are the same businesses that fix cars. They fix your
car, load it with bombs and detonate it by remote control when you drive
into the right part of the city. It will take far more US troops to control
an insurgent population capable of that technique.

It would be even better if a substantial portion of the 'insurgency' weren't
made-up of Iraqis. People like Abizaid know exactly what's going on. One
would think some of it would rub off on the current administration. So sad.

The problem is that the bad guys ARE Iraqi! A fact that no one in this
administration seems to be able to understand.

What evidence is there that this could ever be possible. Democracy does
not exist in Islam. You want them to have our vision of decency, hatred
and terrorism, that will never happen.

Not wanting to die is pretty good incentive to not cooperate. Unfortunately
the insurgents are winning on that front.

Just like the Russians in Afghanistan or us in Viet Nam. It's just a matter
of time before we leave with our tails between our legs. Occupying
a foreign land with vastly a different culture whose people distrust and
hate us can never succeed. Never has, never will. We were not
greeted as liberators and that's when we lost the war.

Can't be done. Like the Vietnamese (remember them?), Iraqis take a dim view
of foreign troop occupation. Help, yes. Occupation, no. A cursorily
understanding of the area would've made this clear *before* we started the
current police action. As it is, we're pretty much screwed. We can:

Make it glowingly clear that we support the current pro bush government,
quickly kill as many "insurgents" as we can, declare victory and just as
quickly get out.

Kill 'em all. 100,000+ so far. Good start.

See its like this... it is ridiculous to pair US Soldiers, the best in
the world, against these third world thugs. Any one of our soldiers
could take seven of these losers out by himself before they got him...

So we just need a shitload of troops on the ground, to show these
losers that WE WILL CRUSH THEM like maggots if they don't shape up.

Remember? Best Friend, Worst Enemy.

The may be you opinion but once again it is one based on
defective information The generals that just testified before
the Senate armed forces committee said that they had plenty of
troops, when it was suggested by a Senator that they might need
more troops. The Presidents said from the beginning if the
general ask for more troop they will get them.

Do you really believe that a senior general is going to publicly say they
can't get the job done with what they've got??

We worked with a real coalition in both of these cases.

Remember the British? They didn't think much of us.... at first.

The quickest and easiest fix is for bush to declare victory [(again) and at
some fairly random but not tooo far off date], pickup and leave. Who's
going to argue with that solution? This will be the one.

Yes. Not to would be a dereliction of duty. However, that does not
mean to say these requests for more not be kept secret, nor a dropping
of troop levels also be kept secret. To tell the enemy exactly how many
troops we have in battle is giving away a lot of information to the
opposition. For all you and I know the actual troop level in Iraq could
be half of what we think it is and it could be drawing down as we speak,
but to give that information away would be not in our best interest.
This is all speculation to say the least, the point is the military
keeps troop movements and numbers secret except to congress under closed
door hearings. It goes for all aspects of military operations. Subs
airplanes ect ect. I'm sure you understand this??
