Toyota's Tide is Turning?

I remember the Toyopet Taxi's on Okinawa in the later 50's. Most of
the drivers lived on the backseat so as not to miss a GI looking for a
ride.

Rough & tough they were. At the time speed limit was 35mph (american
rules) so the Toyopets lasted well. Sure did pop a lot of beer bottle
tops on their bumpers.
