So we're to open our bags in NY, allow our library and medical records
to be read by the FBI without a warrant, have our bank accounts
monitired, our houses invaded all without a court order. Even be
taken off to an un-named place with no charges and no lawyer while our
families have no clue where we are.
And at the same time...
*White House Won't Show All Roberts Papers
WASHINGTON (AP) -- Citing privacy and precedent, the Bush
administration indicated Sunday it does not intend to release all
memos and other documents written by Supreme Court nominee John
Roberts when he worked for two Republican presidents.
Fucking republicans.
At least the leading Democrat on the Senate Judiciary Committee,
disputed the assertion that privacy was at stake and called such a
position a "red herring."

Your characterization of the patriot act is not factual correct.
Even the congress disagree with you opinion since it recently
made permanent the majority of provision in the patriot act, in
both houses. The only difference is the expiration time of three
for four section that were not made permanent.
The Constitutional right of the executive branch, be it
Republican or Democrat, not to have to share private
communications with the legislative brach was settled long ago by
the courts, and again as recently a last year. Do some research
on Supreme Court rulings
before you post any more stupid stuff like that, WBMA

1. If you have nothing to hide, what's wrong with opening the bag?
2. If you're dumb enough to carry something with you you shouldn't have,
then you deserve what you gat.
3. The Constitution guarantees freedom from unlawful search and SEIZURE.
Let's say you're hustling through NYC with you 'courier bag' full of the
finest uncut Columbian coke. A cop sidelines you and wants to look in your
bag. You give him a hard time and he clubs you in the head. While the
stars are beginning to subside, he opens your bag and sees your 'messages'.
The most he can do is take it away from you.
Since he didn't have a search warrant with all the specifics, anything you
may have in your possession that would cause a long all-expenses paid
vacation cannot be submitted for evidence. At all. Not the real thing, not
the officer's account, no pictures or video. It is all inadmissable in a
court of law. SO, you'd better get your ass home and clean the place up
before they come knocking at your door with a warrant.
And you better run from the people you were being a mule for, for being
so damn stupid to begin with!

I don't give a shit, this a Supreme Court nominee. As my mother said
.... "If you don't like lying, don't do things you feel like you have to
lie about!"
If Roberts doesn't have the backbone to release his OWN records, in
full (since he was a public servant -- I was paying his salary), then
he shouldn't be nominated.

"They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety
deserve neither liberty nor safety."
-Benjamin Franklin
In our case, the bush regime hasn't even provided temporary safety. Real
libraries refuse federal money and, thus, ignore this treasonous invasion of
privacy.

You know that if a NY cop wants to search you, you can refuse and go your
merry way. It's a pointless stop. I guess a terrorist would not know that.

Hmm.. Plus it makes no sense to stop someone already on the train or at the
train station. If he is going to blow up, he is going to blow up.

The whole thing is an expensive PR ploy intended to make it *look* like
something useful's being done. Imagine the people who'll fall for this and
you'll be looking at the same folk who voted for bush. Sad, eh?

New Yorkers voted for Kerry and they are cool with this. So I think this is
bipartisan.

No, what is REALLY sad is stupid, fucking naive dolts like you, who
make assinine claims about opinions being discussed in this newsgroup
somehow "playing into the terrorists' hands". Idiot.
